Today is CVI Day 2026.
More than 300 community leaders, credible messengers, survivors, advocates, service providers, youth leaders, faith leaders, and policymakers from across Michigan have gathered in Lansing with one message: Community Violence Intervention saves lives.
For too long, the people closest to the solutions have been left out of the conversation. Today, we are bringing our voices directly to the Capitol to advocate for investments in prevention, intervention, healing, workforce development, and opportunity.
Community Violence Intervention is more than interrupting violence. It is creating pathways to safety, economic mobility, mental health support, education, and long-term community well-being.
We are proud to stand alongside partners from across the state as we work toward a future where every community has the resources it needs to thrive.
Together, we are creating a freer, safer Detroit and a safer Michigan.
P.S. If you're at home, at work, or unable to join us in Lansing, you can still be part of the movement. We will be live on Facebook beginning at 8:00 AM, bringing you conversations, advocacy updates, and highlights from throughout the day. Tune in, share the stream, and help amplify the message that Community Violence Intervention saves lives.
📱 Join us live starting at 9:00 AM.
Tune in at 10am for our featured conversation with Senator Anthony and State Representative Donovon McKinney.
