It was a full house in our newly renovated Tech Lab last Wednesday, as our Digital Navigators kicked off the Northstar Digital Literary series, with assistance from Madonna U’s student nurses. Northstar helps users define the basic skills needed to use a computer and the internet in daily life, employment, and higher education.

The 49th St. Pat Irish Festival is coming up on Sunday, May 3, from 1 to 8 PM. A couple weeks before our March 26 Caregiving event, Detroit PBS taped a number of interviews with people devoted to caregiving. These are available in a series called “Caregiving Conversations” - appearing on the website (detroitpbs.org) and also on TV over the next several months on “One Detroit,” which airs Thursday nights at 7:30. Interviews include a number of St. Pat people - including Berneta Esaw, Fran Dorn, Leroy Calloway, Frances Lewis, Bill Greer, Pat Rencher, Kimberly Wray-Norman, Katie Moylan, and SaTrice Coleman-Betts. Over the past week our Wayne State Nursing students facilitated three amazing informational sessions for St Pat people: Last Friday (top), the topic was reducing in-home clutter and implementing home safety measures; on Saturday (lower left) the Caregiver Training Program was held - an increasingly popular course as the needs for family caregiving continually expand; Yesterday (lower right) the students, in conjunction with the A.G.R.E.E.D Geriatrics Workforce Enhancement Program presented “Empowered and Informed” about maintaining a safe household. Thanks to the WSU students for all they do for St. Pat!
