These last two years have not been kind to the world. between lockdowns, the loss of family members to this horrible disease the rates of depression have climbed through the roof. But there is good news. With the decline in the rates of COVID infections in the US, and warmer weather right around the corner we can look forward to getting back outside and being active once again.

Good evening Facebook! The original purpose why I began this initiative so many years ago was due to my shock I was actually diagnosed with chronic depression. As a result of that, I've decided to make it a point to put a face to that condition to show that Black men and women can have this condition as well.

Acknowledging that you are depressed is not a sign of weakness. It is quite the opposite. It shows your strength in light of that condition that can make you feel downtrodden.

And it is with this that I will be launching a series of videos titled "This is what depression...", that will feature myself and various other individuals who are brave enough to bring the issue of depression and mental illness to the forefront so that it can be discussed and no longer be a taboo topic in our community.

If you are interested in this project inbox this page and I can fill you in on the details.

As always take care of yourselves and remember, "no matter how far you feel you have fallen, there is no place to go but UP!"

NWBUF is now currently back as we are working on some new materials and resources to better help those that visit this page. Stay tuned for some up and coming news!

Keep your head up. The stress from this election cycle is draining for all of us and depending on the results from one individual to the next, it can trigger a depressive cycle.

But no matter what, keep up, keep on and keep pressing on. As long as we are breathing we are achieving. Remember no matter how far you feel you may have fallen, there is no way to go but UP!
