We are excited to share that DOYC will be a part of this production next season.

We are thrilled to announce Giacomo Puccini’s Tosca this November at the Detroit Opera House, opening Detroit Opera's 26/27 season-long exploration of faith! A work of passion, politics, and impossible choices, Tosca remains one of opera’s most gripping thrillers.

The cast features Masabane Rangwanasha in the title role, Nathan Granner as Cavaradossi, and Alfred Walker as Scarpia, with Roberto Kalb conducting the Detroit Opera Orchestra, Chorus, and Youth Chorus.

This production is staged by Louisa Proske, whose 2025 Glimmerglass Festival production brings Puccini’s drama into Fascist Italy of the 1930s, sharpening the opera’s tension and urgency for today.

Subscription and single tickets to Tosca will go on sale later this spring at the Detroit Opera House box office, online at detroitopera.org, and at 313.237.7464.
