The Future You
The Michael DeWitt Yost Jr. Foundation (MDYJF) mission is to plant a seed in an adolescents mind that (God Willing) there will be a “Future You.” We want to make sure pre-teen and teenagers understand that EVERY choice or decision they make will effect that future persons they WILL become. We want to provide youths ages 11 – 17 with educational opportunities in career choices, life skills, conflict resolution, health, and community involvement. We want to also create thinkers and problem solvers of our young men and women. Utilizing reading and current events workshops we will provide students with the tools to identify community problems and work together to create and implement solutions. Turning kids with no responsibilities into young adults with a drive to get involved, volunteer, and become hard working, tax paying respectable citizens.
Every year in April the MDYJF will honor 3 High school seniors with a cash Scholarship award to help offset the growing cost of secondary education. In addition to the Scholarship MDYJF will award 1 student (of any age) a cash stipend to create and operate a program that will address a problem in their community. Whether it is starting a small business, helping the homeless or adopting and cleaning a neighborhood park, our community needs problem solvers and resources to support our young thinkers. The Michael D. Yost Jr Foundation is that resource.
