Meet Butterscotch and Applejack our founders childhood teddy bears who stuck with her through every scraped knee, scary storm, and bedtime story. 💛 They weren’t “just toys”….they were comfort, courage, and unconditional love wrapped up in fuzzy little hugs.

At Bear Hug Detroit, we see every day how powerful a teddy bear can be for a child in crisis. It’s amazing how something so simple can bring so much comfort.

💙🐻 Bear Hug Detroit had the honor of being invited to the Detroit Police Officer Association cookout!

We were able to meet and connect with so many amazing officers—from brand-new academy graduates to longtime members of the force—and share our mission to bring comfort to children in crisis.

Thanks to your support, we distributed 85 teddy bears to these incredible officers, who will now be able to give a little comfort and a big hug to the kids they encounter while serving our community.

Every bear is a symbol of safety, hope, and love. 💛

Tonight was something special 💛

We spent the evening with the amazing women of Woodside Church during their Life Group meeting at Haven Place and wow, did they show up with love. Together, we bagged 72 teddy bears, each one hugged, prayed over, and packed with care. ✨

They didn’t stop there; this beautiful group also wrote heartfelt thank-you cards to the first responders who will be delivering the bears to children in need of a hug, and generously donated $232 to support our mission. One woman even donated online ahead of time (we see you, thank you!).

These kinds of nights are what Bear Hug Detroit is all about….connection, community, and compassion.

What an incredible day at the Combine Event with ! 💪🐻✨
We loved being part of such a powerful community moment! We high-fived young athletes, colored pages while the athletes waited their turn, handed out bear hugs from our beloved Hugs 🧸, and shared smiles with so many amazing kids.

We also made some exciting new connections and can’t wait to see what the future holds as we continue spreading the across Detroit.
