English Version (For a bilingual post):

Home Child Care Networks (HBCC)

🎥 Video #2: What is a "Home-Based Child Care Network" and How Does It Work?

In our previous video, we discussed their importance. Now, let's get into the details: what are these networks, and how are they structured?

What is an HBCC Network?
It's an interconnected group of providers and families who unite to enhance the quality and sustainability of home-based care. They work together through formal or informal structures like:

Professional associations and groups.

Referral systems and resource sharing.

Peer-led support groups.

How has the concept evolved?

Initially: Early research defined them as community programs with paid staff offering ongoing services and support to affiliates.

Today: The definition has expanded to include technical assistance, training, and peer support for all home-based providers, including family, friend, and neighbor care.

What is a "Network Hub"?
It's the engine of the network! ⚙️
An organization at the core of the strategy that receives public funding to coordinate and provide services for providers and families. Its role is to gather data and ensure services align with the network's broader goals.

What is a "Comprehensive Network Strategy"?
This is the big-picture approach that brings together:

Funders and implementing entities.

The Network Hub.

Providers and families.
For a unified effort focused on improving policies, collecting data, and assessing needs to achieve the best outcomes for everyone.

How are the standards used?
States and community organizations can use these standards as a guide to:

Establish new networks.

Review and improve existing ones.

Ensure providers' voices are heard and services are continuously enhanced.

Join Us for a Special Screening & Discussion: Solidarity in a New Era

July 17th | 8:00 PM ET | Virtual Event
Hosted by NAFCC's Hispanic Caucus Leader, Yessika Magdaleno

Dive into history and culture with us as we watch Solidarity in a New Era, a powerful documentary featuring actor and activist John Leguizamo as he uncovers the untold stories of Latinos and their profound impact on the shaping of the United States.

Often sidelined in mainstream narratives, Latino communities have always been at the heart of resistance, resilience, and transformation. This film shines a light on those contributions—and invites us to reflect on what solidarity looks like today.

-️ Open to all NAFCC members and allies.
- A thoughtful conversation will follow the film, centering on identity, justice, and our role in building a more inclusive future.
