The consistent support of our Champions of Hope ensures more children in Wayne County make it to graduation day.

Your recurring gift keeps our volunteers trained, supported, and ready. It means when a judge appoints a CASA volunteer to a child's case, we can answer that call. No child should have to wait for someone to advocate for them.

We love it when powerful voices use their platform to advocate for representation, accessibility, and equity within the justice system, and Zenell Brown does exactly that. Whether you work in law, advocacy, child welfare, or simply care about the future we're building for young people, her TEDTalk is worth every minute!

Zenell currently serves with the Michigan Supreme Court and has dedicated her career to access, equity, and justice as former President of the Detroit Bar Association, Executive Court Administrator for the Third Circuit, MI CASA Board Member, author, and is a steadfast supporter of Wayne County CASA.

In her TEDTalk, she challenges all of us to rethink what justice can look like when representation and equity are placed at the center, and to imagine a future where children see themselves leading from the bench, not standing before it.

Watch this powerful and thought provoking 7-minute Talk here:

For many people, the justice system feels confusing, inaccessible, and disconnected from the communities it serves. But what if justice could be redesigned t...

CASA volunteers are everyday citizens with extraordinary hearts. They make a life-changing difference for children in the Wayne County foster care system and become the consistent caring voice a child needs throughout their court proceedings.

No prior legal or social work experience is required, just a willingness to commit your time and heart to a child who needs a consistent, caring adult in their corner.

Our next CASA Volunteer Training will begin this summer (early July).

Foster care isn't always about finding a new home. Most of the time, it's about helping kids safely return to their own. Support parents in crisis. Support reunification. ✨
