Ernie Harwell Field at Comerica Park What began as a discussion thread based upon Dane Gussin's Opening Day Facebook status update has now become a movement. It's the people's naming.

Honor baseball and one of it's greatest ambassadors, Ernie Harwell, by calling the field at The Corner, "Ernie Harwell Field" We don't need sponsors and legislative approval, just call it Ernie Harwell Field at The Corner Ballpark" and it will be. No leaders, no sponsors, no celebrity endorsements, no councils, no legislation, no focus groups, let's just do it. Henceforth, the playing surface for

the Detroit Tigers shall be known as "Ernie Harwell Field at Comerica Park." Naming rights will just make it about money.

We now have precedence for naming playing surfaces. The university of Detroit-Mercy has named their basketball floor at Calihan Hall the "Dick Vitale Court" and the University of Kansas calls their floor at the Allen Fieldhouse the James Naismith Court.
If you would like to see the field at Comerica Park named the Ernie Harwell Field, please 'Like', 'Share', and pass the word. Let's get enough for the Tigers to take notice.
