You know every day is a blessing when you wake up that morning.
It is a blessing when you can share with others a smile, something uplifting, or share whatever you may have.
June 2026 marks another milestone in my life . . . YES, I have had many! So far I've gotten up each morning; I've tried to share what I have, and I have successfully come through 3 major health challeges.
But through it all I am here to celebrate reaching three-quarters of a century of sunrises. I think of so many I have known who were not as blessed.
There may be some of you who may be so inclined to help make this birthday another milestone. Not for me but by sharing with others. If so, you can by making a tax deductible donation to the Coleman Legacy Scholarship Fund using Cash App: $CLSF1998 so donations are deposited directly to the CLSF account rather than FaceBook's PayPal. Or send a check to me payable to CLSF. [NOTE: I switched the donations to Cash App since PayPal could not manage to make 2025 donations correctly and actually sent some donations back to the donors.
The funds donated are used to fund scholarships to students attending college and motivate students to continue their studies leading to high school graduation.
The high school graduates and college undergraduate students are selected through the educational programs of The National Association of Negro Business & Professional Women's Clubs.
The fund was started and has continued every year as a tribute to my Mother Evelyn in 1998 upon her death. It was expanded upon the passing of my Dad James Sr in 2005, my brother Jym in 2013 and a living recognition of my retirement in 2002.
No contribution is too small because when the village comes together it can be awesome. Like a drop of water can be over-looked, when the drops are many they can become a poweful ocean!
No matter what, just take time to think happy birthday thoughts for me on 16 June.
