Bold ideas, powerful voices, and limitless potential defined this year’s Latina Leaders x Design (L2xD) summer program. 🩷

L2xD is a three-week summer leadership program empowering young Latinas entering 9th and 10th grade to build confidence, develop essential skills, and prepare for high school, college, and beyond.

Through hands-on projects, inspiring Latina guest speakers, professional connections, and a visit to Carhartt, participants explored real challenges facing their communities— including education, immigration, mental health, and access to resources. Their ideas
came to life through websites, apps, social media, and other creative solutions that showed their passion for helping others.

By the end of the program, participants had grown into confident presenters and leaders who were willing to step outside their comfort zones, share their voices, and support one another. Their final presentations showcased not only the creative solutions they
developed, but also the confidence, resilience, and leadership they gained throughout the program.

This is what happens when young Latinas are given the space to dream, design, and lead.

We’re excited to share that our new Summer Math Program is in full effect! ☀️📚✨

This summer, in collaboration with Grow Detroit’s Young Talent, our rising sophomores are diving into advanced math through this paid, activity-based program with the Algebra Project.

Scholars will leave this program with real math confidence, hands-on problem-solving skills, and a stronger sense of what’s possible for their future. 📚

Rooted in the belief that math literacy is a civil rights issue, we can’t wait for a summer full of growth! ✨
