Friends of the Children Detroit is excited to partner with the Michigan Ross Golub Capital Nonprofit Board Fellows Program during the 2026-27 academic year! 💙 Business+Impact at Ross

Board Fellows Ana Lee Pokrzywa (MBA, 2028) and Eric Gu (MBA, 2028) are working alongside our board to inform an Ambassador Program and integrated marketing strategy that will strengthen our visibility and deepen community engagement. Through this partnership, our board benefits from the Board Fellows’ fresh perspectives and interdisciplinary skills while supporting experiential learning for our Fellows.

These connections create a sense of belonging, encouragement, and community. They learn from one another, celebrate each other’s wins, navigate challenges together, and discover that they are not alone.

🤖💡 The future is being built…one experience at a time!

Professional Mentor Kelsey is helping her mentee explore the exciting world of engineering through a hands-on visit to Robot Garage! 🔧✨

From learning how robots are built to getting the opportunity to build one themselves, our mentees are gaining new skills while discovering just how creative and capable they are.

I don’t know about you, but most elementary school children are shy. And we see that same hesitation in some of our mentees.

Sometimes growth looks like a student who once stayed quiet now raising their hand and volunteering to solve a problem in front of the entire class. 📚✨

That’s why our professional mentors are intentional about helping youth build confidence, courage, and belief in themselves. 💙

Our youth had the incredible opportunity to showcase their creativity in their very own art gallery, displaying handmade pieces they created themselves. 💙
