Happy Birthday Jeff Jones! 🎉 We had a great time celebrating our executive directors (Jeff Jones) bday at Hope Village’s first blood drive this past Monday! Thanks to our board members who showed up and for our staff for making sure everyone was fed and well taking care of after giving blood!! 💪🏾

Because of Monday’s blood drive 32 lives will be saved/enhanced! That’s what we call a Hope Village’s victory! 🙌🏾

Our team recently traded our usual work attire for hard hats and got a firsthand look at the future home of the Detroit Horse Power Urban Equestrian Center, currently under construction right here in the Hope Village neighborhood.

The new 14-acre facility will bring horses into the city while creating greater access to year-round youth development opportunities for Detroit children and teens. Plans include stables for up to 17 horses, indoor and outdoor riding arenas, classrooms, community gathering space, paddocks and even a half-mile bridle path. 

Detroit Horse Power has been an important Hope Village partner for years, and seeing this vision quite literally being built in our neighborhood was an exciting moment for our team. The project represents so much of what we believe in: investing in young people, transforming underused land into community assets, and creating new opportunities right here in the neighborhood.

We can’t wait to watch the next chapter unfold, and eventually welcome the horses home! 🐎💚

Growing your own food is empowering and often linked to reduced anxiety, higher self-esteem, and a greater sense of self-sufficiency. That is why Hope Village has partnered with for another plant giveaway right within Cool Cities Park.

This year, so many locals lined up to get their free plant that within 30 minutes, the supply had run out. To call the event a success would be an understatement! We had a blast 🥰🍅

We also discovered a family of newborn bunnies living right within the beautiful grounds of Cool Cities Park 🐰

This month's Wellness Wednesday pertains to all of us, even those without diabetes! Our feet are our roots to the ground. They carry us from place to place, push the pedals in our cars, and provide us stability! That is why it is all too important to protect our feet in order to prevent serious complications from arising.

Therefore, next Wednesday will be a workshop on how foot complications can be prevented, whether or not you are diabetic. It will also be our last Wellness Wednesday before the start of our Farmers Market, so be sure to register using the QR code or link in our linktree and stop by!
