Marilyn Gates, the daughter of former UMBS director David M. Gates, used her 800 mm camera lens to capture an unusual moment on Douglas Lake on Sunday, June 7. A newly hatched goose rode on the back of its surrogate parent: a loon!

Shakespeare in the Arb performs every Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday from June 4 through June 28. It is a 3-hour outdoor, moving performance that takes place within Nichols Arboretum. All tickets are general admission lawn-style seating. Please bring a chair or a blanket. Love's Labor's Lost...

🚀Major kudos to alum Andre Douglas, who has been named a mission specialist for the Artemis III mission. The upcoming mission will launch into low earth orbit to prepare NASA for future moon landings. Through the Artemis program, NASA hopes to further explore the moon for scientific and economic breakthroughs and eventually bring humans to Mars.

Andre Douglas, who received two master's degrees from the Ann Arbor university, will partake in his first spaceflight in 2027.
