Hannan Center - My Neighborhood Connections AmeriCorps. Enhancing the quality of life for older adults throughout Michigan

In 2019, Hannan Center launched My Neighborhood Connections, a program designed to help older adults age in place in Southeast Michigan neighborhoods. As defined by the United States Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, aging in place refers to the ability to live in one’s home and community safely, independently, and comfortably, regardless of age, income, or ability level. My Neighborhood

Connections (MNC) improves the quality of life and preserves the dignity of older adults in Southeast Michigan through outreach and service coordination around aging in place. The MNC model augments a time bank with data-driven aging in place models, including Village-to-Village, Housing Upgrades to Benefit Seniors, and Community Aging in Place-Advancing Better Living for Elders.
