Ok, WOW! We have MANY teachers to celebrate, with an August workaversary! Sit back, and enjoy your read! :) We are SUPER fortunate around here!
Miss Brooke has been a part of the Laker Prep family for 9 years, and at the end of August will become a stay at home mom. Throughout her time with us, she has built meaningful relationships with countless children, families, and coworkers. We are so grateful for the years of experience, wisdom, and joy she has brought to Laker Prep. Her presence will truly be missed, and it will feel a little different walking into work without hearing her big personality filling the room!
Miss Rose has been a part of the Laker Prep family for 8 years! In addition to being the Lead Teacher in the Yellow Room, she wears many hats each day. From helping with schedules and finding classroom coverage to catching the little details that keep things running smoothly, Miss Rose plays an important role in our program. Her cheerful personality, dependability, and willingness to jump in wherever she's needed make her an incredible asset to our team. Thank you, Miss Rose, for your dedication to the many children, families, and coworkers whose lives you've touched over the years!
Miss Kim has been a part of the Laker Prep team for 3 years! Miss Kim brings a calm and steady presence to the her room. Her patience and thoughtful approach help create a positive classroom environment where children feel supported and cared for. She is always looking for ways to grow professionally and brings new ideas and knowledge back into the classroom to continue providing the best experience for the children. We are so happy to have Miss Kim and appreciate all that she brings to our program!
Miss Clara has been part of the Laker Prep team for 3 years, with a total of 5 years of experience working with our program. She is nearing completion of her CDA! Miss Clara creates a calm, safe, and nurturing environment where infants can learn and grow. Her patience, care, and dedication shine through in the relationships she builds with the children and families she works with. We are excited to see her continue developing her skills and take on new opportunities!
Sofie: Sofie is celebrating 2 years at Laker Prep in August! Sometimes it appears that the best part of working in early childhood is watching children grow, but we also get to watch our teachers grow! Sofie began her work part time during her Junior year in High, and during her Senior year, took on a full time position AND completed her high school course work. Sofie has always been the person to 'see' children and notice each child's uniqueness. She lifts people up in spirit and this past year she has exploded in knowledge of best practice for preschoolers, not only in rituals and routines, but also planning and leading activities. We are excited that Sofie will be starting online Early Education courses at MState this Fall and continuing her full time position in our PreK room.
Miss Olivia has been with Laker Prep for 2 years! Miss Olivia is always willing to take on new challenges with a positive attitude and a smile. She has built wonderful relationships with the children and is a familiar, friendly face throughout Laker Prep. Whether she's in her own classroom or visiting in another, the children are always excited to see her. Miss Olivia is also a supportive coworker who is always willing to lend a helping hand. We are grateful to have her on our team and are excited to watch her continue to grow in her new leadership role!
Miss Stephanie has been part of the Laker Prep team for 2 years! She started her journey with us in the Yellow Room but quickly found her passion working with our toddlers. Miss Stephanie brings a calm and thoughtful presence to her classroom and is someone her coworkers can always count on. Her strong communication skills, both with families and teammates, help create positive relationships throughout our program. We appreciate her willingness to continue learning, growing, and giving her best each day to the children in her care!
Miss Harmony has been a part of the Laker Prep team for 1 year, working with our infant classrooms. She serves as the afternoon infant teacher and is always willing to step in and support the infant team throughout the day whenever needed. Miss Harmony’s calm and caring personality helps create a comfortable environment for the babies in her care. Her patience, flexibility, and genuine excitement for working with infants and their families make her a wonderful addition to our program. We appreciate the warmth she brings to the classroom and the connections she continues to build with the children and families she works with!
Julia: It seems surprising that Julia is just wrapping up 1 year at Laker Prep. She became lead teacher in PreK last August, having worked in child care most of her life (her mom is a Family Child Care provider, and followed by working with toddlers for several years in a child care center. Julia is working on her four year Early Childhood Degree through Winona University, and utilizes her experience and learned theory into place each day. Julia is vibrant in her skill set with young children, providing fun, engaging, and purposeful activities for each child, building their independence and confidence, and has great communication skills with children, fellow colleagues and families.
