09/01/2026
Dear Members and Friends of EAA Chapter 1498,
Our normal EAA Chapter gathering is “always” held on the first Monday of each month. September 07, 2026 while being the first Monday of September is also Labor Day, a national holiday and the traditional last day of summer. Polling the Saturday “coffee and donuts” crowd yesterday the vote was to move the September gathering to 14 September.
Besides a light meal served at the gathering we’ll show the August and September ChapterGram, Dennis Johnson will demonstrate aluminum polishing. After Denny’s demo we will break up into teams for a short contest to polish some aluminum.
We're going to try a “Fly Out” that night weather permitting. Jean says I can use her C-172, Heather will fly if her annual is done and Tim Bohmer will fly if work will permit him making the gathering. Other pilots are welcome to volunteer. The names of each attendee except the pilots will be put in a hat and as many names as planes will be drawn for a short flight around town so bring your spouse.
After a Young Eagle ride Jackson Strom became a new member of 1498. I'll add his photo. Be sure to welcome Jackson when you see him.
Another Young Eagle,Clover Marty of Menahga, became a new member of 1498. See photo.
Please add the Gathering EAA 1498 on September 14 to your calendar and plan to attend. If anyone wants to volunteer a light main dish contact Mike or Jean Moe.Your cost will be reimbursed.
