Residents are invited to gather for the annual National Day of Prayer Service on Thursday, May 7, at noon in the Council Chambers, located on the Second Floor of the Courthouse, 15045 River Road in Hahnville. This year’s theme is “Glorify God Among the Nations, Seeking Him in All Generations.”

Each year, local faith leaders guide the community in prayer for our country and its leaders. Light refreshments will be served after the service.

Can you believe we will be in "Hurricane Season" before you know it. Matthew 25:35 Ministries' Food Pantry invites you to join us for a Preparedness Workshop. St. Charles Parish EOC will come to update us on preparations that we hope we don't have to use. Also Janice White-Merritt from Your Community Discount Pharmacy will come to remind us how to be prepared medically.

We will be sponsoring a food drive benefitting Matthew 25:35: during the Spring Book Sale. A donation of 3 non-perishable items will result in your name being placed in a drawing for a door prize.

We share unsold books with Books for Boots which is a 100% volunteer operated nonprofit organization that provides new and gently used books, movies, music CDs, puzzles, craft items, and more to all members of our military - from injured recruits at basic training to veterans and military children. Friends of the St. Charles Library also donates books to the St. Charles Parish Correctional Facility, and we have a working relationship with the Matthew 25:35 Food Pantry. Please consider donating items to these organizations.

One week from today, your mailbox can help fill a neighbor’s pantry.

On Saturday, May 9, place a bag of nonperishable food next to your mailbox, and your letter carrier will handle the rest through the food drive.

Every can, box, and bag helps Second Harvest Food Bank support neighbors experiencing food insecurity across our community.

Set a reminder, fill a bag, and place it by your mailbox next Saturday.
