Another great morning at Rotary Club of Destin!

We were honored to welcome Marlayna Goosby of Grow Your Gift Music, introduced by fellow Rotarian Todd Wilkinson. Marlayna shared her passion for helping individuals discover and develop their musical talents, inspiring us with the impact music can have on confidence, creativity and personal growth.

We also had the privilege of hearing from Lori Joyner of Harvest House of Destin, a nonprofit dedicated to helping women and children rebuild their lives through faith, support and empowerment.

During the meeting, the Rotary Club of Destin proudly presented Harvest House with a $6,000 donation raised through our recent Crawfish Bash Fundraiser. Thank you to everyone who attended, sponsored and supported the event. Your generosity is making a meaningful difference in our community.

Together, we continue to live out Rotary’s motto: Service Above Self.

26 rescue tubes. Countless lives protected!

We’re proud to announce the completion of our expanded Public Rescue Tube Project across Okaloosa County beaches!

On June 13, Rotary Club of Destin members and volunteers in partnership with the Rotary Club of Fort Walton Beach installed 9 more rescue tubes at James Lee Park. With the 17 new rescue tubes installed on Okaloosa Island in May, we have now installed 26 new rescue tubes at public beach access points throughout Okaloosa County, helping make our beaches safer for both locals and visitors.

What began at Destin beach accesses in 2025 has grown into a countywide safety initiative thanks to the support of local business sponsors, dedicated Rotary volunteers and community partners who believe that one simple piece of lifesaving equipment can make a difference when seconds matter.

A special thank you to our sponsors and volunteers for helping bring this vision to life.

These rescue tubes are available for emergency use and provide critical flotation support for both a swimmer in distress and the person attempting a rescue.

Together, we’re creating safer beaches and stronger communities across the Emerald Coast.

One of the many things we love about Rotary is the friendships and connections that extend far beyond our own community.

We were delighted to welcome Jeri Hill and Julie Shook from the Rotary Club of Springdale Arkansas (District 6110), to our Rotary Club of Destin breakfast meeting while they were vacationing here in Destin!

Thank you both for visiting with us and sharing in the spirit of Rotary fellowship and service. We hope you enjoyed your time along the Emerald Coast and come see us again soon!

What an inspiring morning at the Rotary Club of Destin breakfast meeting!

We were honored to hear from special guest speaker Deana Kale of Destin Wigs, who shared an impactful presentation on coping with hair loss and helping restore confidence and hope for so many facing difficult health journeys. Thank you to Rotary member Gabriel Schwartz for introducing such a meaningful program.

We were also delighted to receive an exciting update from one of our scholarship recipients, Stephanie Roberson, and to hear about the wonderful things ahead in her journey. Supporting and encouraging the next generation is one of the many reasons we love serving our community.

The Rotary Club of Destin and Destin Rotary Sunset Club spent this evening assembling Rescue Tube Public Rescue Terminals (PRTs) that will be installed on Okaloosa Island this Saturday in partnership with Okaloosa County.

These rescue stations provide emergency flotation devices that can be used during water emergencies before first responders arrive — giving beachgoers the chance to help save a life when every second counts.

With thousands of locals and visitors enjoying our beaches every year, projects like this make a real impact on the safety of our community.

Tonight was a reminder that service doesn’t always happen in meetings — sometimes it happens with tools in hand, working side-by-side for something bigger than ourselves.

Huge thank you to everyone who showed up to help make our beaches safer. We are proud to serve such an incredible community. 💛

We are delighted to host guests from other clubs at our weekly meetings, and this week we were joined by Jeri Hill and Julie Shook, representing the Rotary Club of Springdale, Arkansas, from District 6110. We extend a warm welcome to all visiting Rotary Club members to join us for breakfast. We value our connections with the Rotary family and appreciate learning about the community service projects and achievements of your clubs.
