Huge thank you to Jessica Valek for educating the Destin Rotary Sunset Club tonight on the incredible work being done by the Destin-Fort Walton Beach Sea Turtle Patrol and how our community can help protect the nesting sea turtles along our beautiful Gulf Coast beaches.

From keeping beaches clean and dark at night to respecting marked nesting areas, every small action helps preserve these amazing species for generations to come. Only use amber flashlights at night!

We are grateful for all the volunteers and advocates working tirelessly to protect the wildlife that makes our area so special. ๐Ÿข๐ŸŒŠโ˜€๏ธ

Tonight at the Destin Sunset Rotary Club, we had the privilege of hearing from Virginia with the Mental Health Association of Okaloosa and Walton Counties about the incredible number of programs and resources available right here in our local community.

From crisis support and counseling resources to programs designed to help families, veterans, children, and individuals facing difficult times, it was eye-opening to see just how many people they are helping every single day.

If you or someone you know is struggling, overwhelmed, stressed, or simply unsure where to turn, please donโ€™t wait until things feel impossible. Give them a call at 850-244-1040. Even if youโ€™re not sure whether you โ€œneedโ€ help, reach out anyway. You may be surprised at how many solutions, programs, and caring people are available to help anyone in almost any situation.

A huge thank you to Virginia for taking the time to educate our club and for the meaningful work your organization does for our community every single day. โค๏ธ

The Rotary Club of Destin and Destin Rotary Sunset Club spent this evening assembling Rescue Tube Public Rescue Terminals (PRTs) that will be installed on Okaloosa Island this Saturday in partnership with Okaloosa County.

These rescue stations provide emergency flotation devices that can be used during water emergencies before first responders arrive โ€” giving beachgoers the chance to help save a life when every second counts.

With thousands of locals and visitors enjoying our beaches every year, projects like this make a real impact on the safety of our community.

Tonight was a reminder that service doesnโ€™t always happen in meetings โ€” sometimes it happens with tools in hand, working side-by-side for something bigger than ourselves.

Huge thank you to everyone who showed up to help make our beaches safer. We are proud to serve such an incredible community. ๐Ÿ’›

Tonight we had the privilege of hearing an incredibly informative and impactful presentation from Peggy Brockman with Bring Hope Now

Early bird gets the worm! ๐ŸŒž This morning Sunset Rotary got up early to help the Boys & Girls Club of South Walton clean up their garden beds, making way for a great new project with the South Walton High School Garden Club. We love community partnerships like this! ๐ŸŒฑ
