The DeSoto Lions Club received a lions banner patch for donations to "Sleep in Heavenly Peace" in the amount of five hundred dollars. The DeSoto Lions also participate in the build bed events in partnership with "Sleep in Heavenly Peace." The beds are donated to kids that have no bed to sleep on free of charge. DeSoto Lions, serving our community.

The speaker for the DeSoto Lions Club's April 14th meeting was DeSoto Lions Club member and Director of DeSoto's Jr. ROTC program Lt. Col. (Ret.) Russell Hooper. Under his direction members of the JROTC have served their community by building and delivering beds to kids that did not have a bed to sleep on. This was accomplished through a joint effort between the JROTC students, the DeSoto Lions Club and Sleep in Heavenly Peace. Lt. Col. Hooper will be recognized later this month as the DeSoto Lions Club's "Grassroots" lion.
