Cuyamaca Rancho State Park Interpretive Association (CRSPIA)

Cuyamaca Rancho State Park Interpretive Association (CRSPIA) CRSPIA supports Cuyamaca Rancho State Park & its staff and volunteers. We fund visitor activities & volunteer expenses. CRSPIA is all Volunteers.

The State Parks have many goals in their management of public lands. Interpretation is one vital mission, that is, helping visitors explore and discover their personal connections to the history, landscapes, and wildlife that are our common heritage. Interpretation is the soul of the parks, but it faces challenges when budgets are tight, as they are now. CRSPIA funds one State Park Interpreter pos

ition, and is committed to fund the second if need be due to budget challenges. CRSPIA is a non-profit fundraising group that channels much-needed funds to Park staff to help with their interpretive and other responsibilities. Items that have been funded by CRSPIA include: the many trail signs and trailhead information boards, radios used by volunteer patrols, the Visitor Center and its exhibits, and equipment used by Rangers for thier Campfire Talks. We finance the major expenses of the volunteer programs.

‼️ Important message regarding California State Park closures as a result of COVID-19 ‼️

In an effort to protect public health and the safety of our visitors, volunteers and staff as the state responds to the continued threat of COVID-19, California State Parks is temporarily closing the Visitor Center at Cuyamaca Rancho State Park. While we are not directly affected by COVID-19, we are monitoring the situation carefully and are committed to being responsive and following California Governor’s updated policy on social gatherings to help slow the spread of COVID-19. The park will remain open for all other activities such as camping and recreational opportunities. We recognize the importance of visiting Cuyamaca Rancho State Park as it represents an opportunity to get outdoors and enjoy fresh air with family and friends and escape from our daily routines. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause your visit. We thank you for your patience, trust and continued support. We’d also like to thank our volunteers and staff for their commitment and dedication as public servants through these challenging circumstances. For the most up-to-date information, please follow our park webpage (https://www.parks.ca.gov/?page_id=667).
