Imagine being released from prison with no home, no car, no money, and nowhere to turn.

Just weeks before his release, the building he was supposed to return to burned down. Two weeks after coming home, he lost his sister.

At a time when everything felt uncertain, We stepped in to help him secure an apartment.

That apartment wasn't just a roof over his head. It was the stability he needed to begin rebuilding his life.

We believe everyone deserves dignity, support, and a real opportunity for a fresh start.

Sometimes, the most powerful way to explain what we do is to hear it from someone whose life we've touched. ๐Ÿ’™

Behind every arrest is a story most people never get to hear.

A mother shares what it was like watching her son experience mental health challenges, become increasingly isolated, and eventually enter a justice system she felt was focused more on punishment than on getting him the help he needed.

For families of justice impacted individuals, navigating the system can mean months or years of uncertainty, fear, and challenges they never expected to face.

Hinda works alongside justice impacted individuals and their families, providing support, guidance, community, and hope throughout the journey.

Throwback to our Navigating Social Security Disability class with Jeffrey A. Rabin.

In this clip, Jeffrey makes an important distinction: having a serious diagnosis doesnโ€™t automatically mean someone is unable to work. Understanding how disability is actually evaluated can make a major difference when navigating the system.

Hinda offers educational classes like these, to give our community practical knowledge, resources, and tools to better navigate lifeโ€™s challenges.

A prison sentence should not mean losing access to your humanity, or being forgotten when you need help most.
This story is a painful reminder that people behind prison walls can face serious challenges advocating for their own needs, including healthcare.

At the Hinda Institute, our work begins long before someone comes home. We visit, advocate, provide support, and remind those who are incarcerated that they are not alone.

His Bar Mitzvah was coming up, a milestone he should have been celebrating with his entire family.

But his father was in prison.

For a child, incarceration can mean missing the moments that matter most, thatโ€™s where the Hinda Institute stepped in, supporting him and his family through a time no child should have to navigate alone.

When someone goes to prison, the impact reaches far beyond the prison walls.
