Highline College Permaculture Club Permaculture Club is for students interested in sustainability, learning how food is produced/prepared, nutrition, people, & permanent agriculture systems.

Permaculture: a regenerative design system that provides you with all your needs by following the blueprint of nature. OBSERVE the site (sun, rain, shade, wind)

Minimal manual input (labor, inoculants, chop and drop, cover crops, no till, ext..) GUIDELINES:
• Copy natures blueprint
• Start with big trees, work way down to smaller plants
• Diversity, polyculture
• Divide into zones – guilds ( companion planting, plant synergies)
• Consider microclimates‐ use appropriately‐ analyze (wind, water and sun patterns)
CONCEPTUALIZE AND DESIGN WHOLE COMMUNITIES
Teach people about self‐sustainability, how food is produced/prepared, and nutrition
Provide local food for campus, Food sheds ‐ feed neighborhoods, homeless, distribute surplus, Medicinal herbs garden
