Fire Departments Respond to Possible Stabbing
Saturday, September 13, 2026 — At approximately 7:30 p.m., Delaware Township Fire Department and Saylor Township Fire Department were dispatched to the 2900 block of NE 46th Ave/NE Broadway Ave for a report of a victim with a possible gunshot wound.
Upon arrival, first responders located one patient suffering from serious bleeding. It was determined that the injuries were not consistent with a gunshot wound, but may have been the result of a possible stabbing.
Firefighters and emergency medical personnel provided treatment for life-threatening injuries at the scene. The patient was transported in critical condition by paramedics from Delaware Township Fire Department to an area hospital for further treatment.
The circumstances surrounding the incident remain under investigation by the Polk County Sheriff’s Office. No further information regarding the incident is available at this time.
