What an incredible time last week at the IALA Annual Conference!

We’re still buzzing with energy from the amazing speakers who inspired us, the fantastic vendors who showcased innovative products and services, and the wonderful attendees who make our assisted living community so special.

Thank you to everyone who joined us — your participation, passion, and support made this event one to remember. We can’t wait to see you all again next year!

3801 Grand Assisted Living and Memory Care recently welcomed John Hollinrake, Deputy State Director for Senator Joni K. Ernst for a special visit to showcase the incredible work happening in assisted living.

The visit began with a warm welcome from Cole Taggart and Angie Wadle, who guided the legislator on a tour of the community. Along the way, we had the opportunity to learn about daily programs and services, and hear stories that highlighted the positive impact assisted living has on individuals and families.

During the visit, conversations focused on key issues facing providers today, including workforce recruitment and retention, rising costs of care, and the regulatory challenges communities must balance while continuing to provide high-quality services.

Visits like these help strengthen the connection between policymakers and the people their decisions affect every day. By opening their doors, 3801 Grand Assisted Living demonstrated the important role assisted living plays in the community and the value of continued support from state leaders.

Last week was nothing short of extraordinary as our members came together to celebrate National Assisted Living Week! Each day was filled with joy, laughter, and moments that reminded us why assisted living is such a special place to call home. From themed parties, dress up days and live entertainment to craft workshops, games, and delicious treats, residents had the chance to connect, create, and celebrate life together. Creative spirits shined during art and craft sessions, while friendly competitions in bingo, trivia, and other games brought plenty of smiles and cheers. And of course, no celebration would be complete without mouthwatering meals and sweet surprises prepared by culinary teams. But beyond the fun, this week showcased the heart of assisted living—community. Residents, families, staff, and volunteers all came together to honor the amazing people who make our communities so vibrant. National Assisted Living Week was a beautiful reminder that assisted living is about so much more than care—it’s about living life fully, joyfully, and together.
