It's been a busy couple of months! In April, the Iowa State Patrol City Serve Team visited Districts 1 and 16 to provide some "fuel up" snacks for the troopers & staff. The May treat stop got rave reviews from both locations with the Liquid IV! We are so thankful for our law enforcement crew who keep our community safe!

Our Ankeny Police Department City Serve Team helped set up, serve and tear down for the department’s Open House/Picnic on May 14. It was great opportunity to serve and be a part of the community event.

Our Child Welfare Social Workers (CWW) City Serve Team fired up the grill at River Place in Des Moines to celebrate National Foster Care Month with an appreciation BBQ for the incredible social workers who serve our communities every day. We were proud to serve more than 70 dedicated professionals who are truly in the trenches supporting Iowa’s children and families. Attendees also had a chance to take home fresh flower centerpieces through a special drawing – just a small way to say thank you. We are deeply grateful for the compassion, resilience, and commitment these workers bring to Polk County and across Iowa. Their impact does not go unnoticed.

In honor of International Firefighter Day on May 4, our City Serve Team provided a special cake in addition to dinner for the Saylor Township Fire Department.

Last week was Teacher Appreciation Week and a few of our City Serve School Teams were busy honoring the staff at Saydel High School, Des Moines Public Schools Brubaker and Carver Elementary. The week started off with providing a caffeine cart for the Saydel High School staff. Thursday the Teams dropped off a grab and go breakfast for the Carver Elementary staff and individual pies to Brubaker Elementary staff. Thank you to Home Slice for partnering with us and providing the pies at a discount. We love and pray for our teachers and school administrators not only during Teacher Appreciation Week but every week!

Our Camp Dodge City Serve Team helped set up and clean up for the Army National Guard Military Family Ball last Saturday. It was a memorable evening filled with celebration, connection, and meaningful activities. The event beautifully showcased the strong bonds and camaraderie that define the National Guard family. We support and pray for our soldiers and their families!

Our DMPS Carver Elementary School and Saydel High School City Serve Teams dropped off some Bath and Body Works pocket sanitizers for the teachers and staff. A little reminder thanking them for being ‘SCENT-sational’.

Along with providing a monthly dinner for the Saylor Township Fire Department first responders, our City Serve Team shared with them Easter treats.

Our Child Welfare Workers City Serve Team stopped by River Place in Des Moines to deliver a special Easter surprise for their amazing social workers! Our group put together 100 Easter baskets as a small token of appreciation for the dedication, compassion, and hard work these professionals show every day. Thank you for everything you do to support children and families—you are truly appreciated!
