BOOK IT! Summer of Stories is back for another fun-filled, nostalgic summer of reading adventures and pizza prizes!

Our summer program officially begins TODAY, June 1 and runs through August 31 for children in PreK–6th grade nationwide.

✨ The first official reward claim period opens July 1!

Parents, here are a few important reminders:

📅 Reading days must be marked on the calendar inside the BOOK IT! App. If you miss a day, you’re able to go back up to 7 days.
📖 Children must read at least 15 days within the month, and parents must track those reading days in the app calendar to qualify for their pizza reward.

If you experience any issues, please contact us before the end of the month using the Contact Support page located in the app menu or on our website so we can assist you in time.

Chuck E. Cheese has a Reading Rewards Calendar that kids can complete over the summer. Just read every day for two weeks, track your progress on the calendar, and then trade it in for 10 FREE play points at your local Chuck E. Cheese. Even better, your child can start working on a new calendar every two weeks for multiple redemptions all summer long! Your offer for free play points is valid until December 31, 2026.
5. Des Moines Area Libraries - Summer Reading Programs
a. Altoona Public Library: Summer Reading Challenge kicks off on May 30th with the Rainbow Run from 10:00-10:30am at the library. Register at https://www.altoonalibrary.com.

🍕📚 It’s HERE! Summer of Stories™ enrollment starts TODAY!
Time to turn reading into rewards (hello, pizza! 😍)

➡️ Enrollment is OPEN now—everyone must enroll each year (school & homeschool doesn’t carry over)
➡️ Download or update the BOOK IT!® App
➡️ Tap “Enroll Now” and complete the form

🍕 Important: If you downloaded the app earlier and added child profiles, that’s a great first step—but you may not be fully enrolled yet. Be sure to tap “Enroll for Summer” and complete registration!

Once enrolled, your information (registered children) will appear in the app when the program officially begins on June 1.

📖 Pre-K – 6th grade

✨ Pro tip: Add the correct number of readers during registration—you can’t go back and add more later!

Friday = THE FINAL BOSS: Breakfast & Twist Sips💥

This morning’s hype breakfast was hitting different thanks to Hy-Vee and Casey’s coming through for our Delaware Elementary staff! 🙌

Casey’s breakfast pizza = ELITE 🔥
Hy-Vee donuts & drinks = TOP TIER 🍩🥤 (ate and left no crumbs!)
And the vibes don’t stop there… The Twist drinks are being delivered today too 🥤✨

We’re so grateful for community partners like these who help us keep the energy high and celebrate our staff all week long. Main character energy all around!

Thursday was a BIG FLEX (the Fireside Altoona edition) 🔥

Lunch was definitely hitting different today for our Delaware Elementary staff! Huge shoutout to Fireside Grill for helping us bring in a full spread—the pasta (elite), the salad (top tier), and the bread (ate and left no crumbs 👏).

Teacher Appreciation Week has been full of main character energy, and today did not disappoint. We’re so grateful for community partners like Fireside who help us keep the vibes high and celebrate our amazing staff!
