Our last day of the 40 Days for Life Spring Prayer Campaign in Des Moines was yesterday, and it was truly a blessing. From faithful pro-life patriots standing strong to the special presence of Marlene Downing with Susan B. Anthony Pro-Life America, the day was filled with encouragement. Marlene is a true pro-life champion, working with an organization dedicated to helping pro-life candidates win elections. She has also become a dear friend of IRTL, and we were so grateful to have her with us.
Yesterday’s beautiful weather provided the perfect send-off as we closed this campaign season and looked ahead to the fall campaign, which we will announce later this summer. We often mention the weather conditions in our posts, but a statement in a recent 40 Days for Life letter gave us a fresh perspective on the cold. It reminded us that even the harshest weather can serve a greater purpose. They shared that more babies are often saved when it is cold outside. Why? Because when women see faithful advocates standing in the cold, holding signs and praying, some choose not to follow through.
The cold becomes more than a condition. It becomes a witness. It represents sacrifice, and love is always shown through sacrifice. Every shiver, every numb hand, and every moment spent enduring the elements becomes a visible sign of compassion, conviction, and hope for both mother and child.
If you’re interested in joining us this fall, visit 40 Days for Life to learn more and watch for campaign updates. Thank you for every prayer you’ve offered on our behalf. We truly feel them.
