Thank you for playing in the 18th annual Polar Bear Open Golf Outing recently. The event was the biggest and most successful yet
and a very nice tribute to the event’s founder, Ron German. There will be about $45,000 that will be passed to the North High Alumni
Foundation for scholarships for deserving graduating seniors next spring. This year, there were scholarship payments and forward
commitments for more that $350,000 made to 59 students. These funds allow many of these students a chance to get an education
that they would not be able to afford on their own.
We had 154 players and enjoyed another good weather day. Our thanks to Chris Tillinghast and his staff at Blank for their efforts to
give us a good day.
We had several prizes and games with the following winners:
Low Gross Foursome - Hurl Beechum, Andre Allen, John Gilbert and Trent Grosnell
First Place for First Flight - Chandtha Bjerke, Bron Bjerke, Ben Villa and Blane Peterson
First Place for the Second Flight - Gary Timmons, Deb Timmons, Andrew Russell and Gary Russell
First Place for Third Flight - Vince Bobenhouse, Brian Cowell, James Friehage and Eric Casteline

Next year’s event will be at the Blank Course again on July, 26, 2025. Please save the day on your calendar. We always need more
volunteer help to make the day even better. If interested, contact Mike Swift at [email protected] or Craig Millhollin at
[email protected]. the more we have, the better the event. Also, if anyone knows of golf equipment that is usable and want
to donate it to the North Golf Team, please let Mike or Craig know.
And please support our sponsors as much of the success of this event is because of their generous support.
Have a great year. The Polar Bear Open committee
