Dear BLH Community -

We are sad to share that our beloved teacher, coach, assistant athletic director, concessions manager, and all-around LHS supporter Roberta Nigro has passed away. She meant so much to so many, and we are all heartbroken by her loss.

Please join the community on Saturday, Sept 5, from 1 to 4 PM in the Al Graziano Commons at LHS for a Celebration of Life. There will be a short prayer service at 3:45 PM. We will remember her spirit and be grateful together for having known her.

The Railettes will also honor Roberta this Friday, Aug 28, at the Lincoln football game. Please join us at Mediacom Stadium at 7 PM. Wear pink or green (her favorite colors) if you’re able.

We feel lucky to have celebrated Roberta’s many contributions to Lincoln at the Maroon & Gold Gala this past February, when she was inducted into the Athletic Hall of Fame. While she never sought out the spotlight, it was obvious that she enjoyed being with so many who loved and appreciated her. She gave her all to LHS — how fortunate for us that our school benefitted from her decades of care and attention.

Help LHS Students Shine for Homecoming!

The Lincoln Sustainable Fashion Club is collecting formal clothing donations so every student can feel confident and included at Homecoming on September 19.

Needed in all adult sizes, colors, and styles:
* Formal dresses
* Jumpsuits
* Men’s button-downs and dress pants
* Men’s and women’s formal shoes
* Ties
Donate by September 1: Drop items at Lincoln High School, Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM-3:45 PM. Please label donations “Sustainable Fashion Club” or “For Lily Friedrichsen/Ms. Lily.”

We’re also looking for hair stylists, makeup artists, and nail technicians to volunteer September 19 from 3:15-6:30 PM at Lincoln and help students get ready for the dance.

It’s time for the Chicken Bowl! 🐥🐔🍗🐓

Friday, Aug 21.

Chicken dinners will be served from 4:30 - 6 PM in the LHS Al Graziano Commons. Dinner tickets will be available at the door for $10 each (cash or card).

Lincoln High School is also planning a program for the evening:

5 - 6 PM - volleyball scrimmage
6 - 6:40 PM - Boys Golf, Cross Country, Girls Swimming and Diving, Girls Tennis, and Volleyball team intros, and performances by Cheerleading and Railettes

TURF FIELD
5 - 6:30 PM - 9/JV football scrimmage v Oskaloosa
7 PM - Marching Band performance
7:15 PM - Varsity Scrimmage v Oskaloosa
