Our friends from Athene volunteer through rain, snow, and heat waves!

Yesterday Athene hosted a Panel Build at their office in West Des Moines and built a bunch of walls for our Walnut Crossing Development in Waukee.

The heat was BRUTAL but they powered through with smiles on their faces!

Thank you Athene, for having us, for your support of Habitat, and your commitment to volunteerism!

Our friends from Hy-Vee hosted us for a Panel Build this morning to help build a set of walls for a home in our Walnut Crossing development in Waukee.

One thing that has made our Walnut Crossing development in Waukee possible is the support and our collaboration of the City of Waukee and Waukee Community School District.

Today, leaders from the City and from the School rolled up their sleeves to hang cabinets and install baseboards in one of our future homes in Waukee!

Thank you to the School Board Members, Administrators, and City Officials that built homes, communities, and hope today!

🔑🏡🥳 Yesterday, John and Elizabeth closed on their home and got to hang their key in our office. That makes 23 closings for us this year! 🔑🏡🥳

We are wishing them and their 4 daughters all of the joy and success in the world as they take the biggest step in their homeownership journey!

Today, we got to go down to Indianola and have a Panel Build with our friends from Cemen Tech

They built the walls for the first house in Indianola that we get to be a part of since our merger with Warren County Habitat for Humanity earlier this year.

Earlier this year, our friends at Kreg Tool donated a bunch of tools for use on our Build Sites. Today - they got to come out and use them!

Beyond this investment, Wells Fargo employees volunteered with Greater Des Moines Habitat for Humanity at the Iowa State Fair on Monday, building wheelchair ramps for local homeowners. The most affordable home is the one a person already lives in, and this project will highlight the importance of people being able to age in place or live with a disability, keeping them in a home where they feel physically safe and financially secure.

Yesterday at the Iowa State Fair we built 3 ramps in under 4 hours with help from our friends and volunteers at Wells Fargo!

Ashley Hinson and Lieutenant Governor Chris Cournoyer came by to speak about the bipartisan 21st Century ROAD to Housing Act and how it supports housing affordability and stability in Iowa. Following their remarks, Wells Fargo presented us with a check to support us in building homes, communities, and hope in Central Iowa.
