I have finished writing my memoir and it is available at bookstores and on Amazon now. My life journey began in the vibrant crucible of the American Civil Rights Movement. As a Black woman raised in Newark, New Jersey, I'm a descendant of a resilient lineage, going back to enslaved ancestors whose descendants sought a better life in the North during the Great Migration. My childhood was shaped by a close-knit community where family bonds, the pursuit of knowledge, unwavering faith, and a determined focus on the future were paramount. This environment instilled in me the values that have guided my life's trajectory.

Today, I'm blessed to be a wife, mother, and grandmother. Beyond the personal, my path has led me to the legal profession and public service. I've had the privilege of serving as a legislator, striving to enact meaningful change and champion the causes I believe in. While my personal experiences are unique, the underlying themes of struggle, resilience, faith, and the pursuit of a better tomorrow resonate deeply with millions of Americans, reflecting our shared history. It's a story of history, hope, perseverance, and the unwavering belief in a brighter future.
