10 Weeks and counting! ⏱️🗓️

We will be responding to all inquiries this week related to the two post we made at the beginning of our countdown for SUMMER FESTIVAL 2026! Thank you to all of the food and business vendors interested in participating, we can not wait to make this our best year yet!

#1 Hot food vendors limited
We will have a limited and select number of food truck/tent vendors set up in our parking lot only. No other food vendors will be accepted for set up or participation without confirmation.

#2 Business Market
"Booth" spaces are free and on a first come first serve basis. We will have a select number of spaces already saved for vendors hosting activities for example face painting and the DSM Party Pod.
These spaces are not for food vendors! Food will be limited to the parking lot only!

We are sharing the news about upcoming discussions regarding funding to Des Moines Public Library that could change with new legislation. Join the conversation or follow the Des Moines Public Library page for more ways to show your support!

One timely and important way you can support Des Moines Public Library is showing City Council how much you care. If you can, please attend the Council's work session on Monday, May 18, starting at 7:30 a.m. at City Hall, 1200 Locust Ave. An update is anticipated on the city's fiscal year 2028 budget and projected shortfalls. As well, DMPL leadership will share details about its wide-reaching impact across the metro. The public is welcome.

If you can't attend the City Council work session, please take part in one of the Community Conversations being hosted by DMPL at each branch location this month. Your voice matters.

The Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive and our letter carriers will be collecting food donations right from your doorstep on Saturday. All nonperishable food items will go to support your neighbors through the DMARC Food Pantry Network.
