Chris Stamatelos is making their DMYAT debut as Mark in RENT: School Edition.

An aspiring filmmaker armed with a camera and an eye for the people around him. Mark documents the chaos, connection, and humanity of life in New York City's Alphabet City as he and his friends navigate love, loss, and the pursuit of their dreams.

Canaan Richardson is returning to Des Moines Young Artists' Theatre as Roger in RENT: School Edition.

A musician trying to outrun fear, grief, and uncertainty, Roger carries the raw edge of the show’s heartbeat. As he struggles to find hope, connection, and a reason to keep moving forward, his journey becomes one of the most powerful stories in this groundbreaking musical.

We are proud to recognize the Young Artists from the Rent: School Edition cast who participated in the Iowa High School Musical Theater Awards Thursday night.

We commend these Young Artists for their hard work and dedication to the Art of Musical Theater. Their achievements are a source of great pride for their individual schools and the local theater community.

Also, congratulations to all of other past DMYAT Artists on their acknowledgement for their Outstanding achievements both on stage and behind the scenes at the IHSMTA Thursday too.
