The third Youth of the Year Scholarship Recipient is Mia Dukle! Mia is a senior at Valley High School and volunteered 225 hours with organizations like Community Youth Concepts, Hillside and Clive Learning Academy, Community of Racial Equity, Woodlands Creek Senior Living Center, and Girls Who Code!

Mia said of her volunteer experience, "Working with students with disabilities helped me realize the importance of inclusivity, empathy, and disability awareness. Not only did my experiences open my eyes to how to treat others, but they also helped inspire me to pursue my future career of wanting to be a pediatrician."

Mia will be attending the University of Iowa in the fall! This scholarship has been generously provided by Downtown Des Moines Kiwanis Club! Congratulations Mia and thank you for the tremendous impact you have made in your community!
