News from Blessing, someone who grew up in the Jamaa Letu girls' orphanage.

"This season has been filled with harvest. We had a successful harvest of cabbage, green beans, cassava leaves, and green peppers...

Today we had the privilege of donating heads of cabbage to the boys and girls orphanage, along with mayonnaise for coleslaw and some drinks.

Growing up at the orphanage, salad was a luxury we rarely had. There were many of us, and it was a bit expensive, but I used to crave it a lot. It warms my heart that my young brothers and sisters will have coleslaw as part of their New Year's Day meal. What a celebration! They were all happy."

You can also give by check; in the memo, indicate “Jamaa Letu Orphanages” or “Jamaa Letu Scholarships.” Your treasurer will send the funds to the conference office in late June or when they are received. Today we join with our family, Jamaa Letu in mourning the loss of Victoire. Please keep her sisters and brothers in your prayers. She suffered from sickle cell anemia for many years. May she rest in peace.
