Wow! Look at just some of the recent donations from the Kent Eagles 🦅 #362, this club has been such a big supporter of The Essentials. They also just raised $1,500.00 for us, in addition to the endless donations of goods! Look at all these shopping bags!

How do you donate to Essentials? Best time to come is 9am-2pm Monday-Friday, enter at the lower back door, the same location as the food bank. Follow the signs for Essentials, if the door is locked, leave your donations in the bin in front of the door.
What is most needed? Gently used towels, blankets, pots & pans.
The need for new children’s underwear & socks is never ending, feel free to order online & have mailed to Lynn’s Attention at 22225 9th Ave S. Des Moines 98198.
We are unable to take adult clothing or furniture but infant & children’s clothes & shoes of all sizes & all kitchen & household items & small appliances are welcome & very appreciated.

The Household Essentials & Children’s Clothing Bank will be closed next week for client service (January 31st)
Donations can still be dropped off. Service will resume as usual Wednesday, February 7th 9am-12noon.

The Des Moines Household Essentials & Children’s Clothing Bank is a nonprofit with the purpose of providing our community with gentle used household items & clothing for children. These items are given to anyone in need of them and are free of charge.
We rely solely on donations. Donations can be dropped off Monday-Friday from 9am-3pm to 22225 9th Ave S Des Moines, Wa 98198, while we operate separately, we share space with the Des Moines Area Food Bank, please use the Food Bank entrance in the back of the building. Due to space limitations, no furniture or adult clothing please.
In addition to donations, we welcome volunteers, send us a message or stop by on a Wednesday morning during our hours of operation and find out how you can get involved. We strive to nurture an environment that is welcoming to clients & volunteers alike and have some fun along the way.
