We've got some news we're excited to share. Last night, the Des Moines City Council approved our application to use the roof of the 5th & Walnut Parking Garage for the final contest of the 2026 Streetstyle Open.

This has been three years in the making. Getting permission to skate on a downtown parking garage rooftop isn't simple, and we've spent a lot of time working through the details to make it happen safely and the right way.

We want to thank Council Members Josh Mandelbaum, Carl Voss, Mike Simonson, and Rob Barron for their advice and support throughout this process. Their guidance made a real difference in getting us here.

Join us Saturday (9/26) at 6pm on the roof of the 5th & Walnut Parking Garage for the last contest of this year's Streetstyle Open. It's a fitting way to close out the weekend, up above the city that's made this event possible.

Huge thanks to the team at Shive-Hattery, who spent a morning building 60 skateboards for our Get on Board Project!

Each one of these boards is heading out to a kid in central Iowa who's getting their first skateboard — no cost, no strings attached.
