Des Moines Audubon Society is a local organization in central Iowa devoted to conservation of wildlife in general and the study and protection of birds in particular. The organization holds monthly meetings and field trips. Meetings are held the third Tuesday of each month (September through April) at Westminster Presbyterian Church in Beaverdale (4114 Allison Avenue, Des Moines). Field trips are

usually held the second Saturday of each month. The public is invited to participate in all activities, and beginners are welcome and encouraged to participate in field trips.

With a high temperature of 1 degree predicted for Tuesday and a low around -6 degrees, The board of Des Moines Audubon has decided to CANCEL the Des Moines Audubon program for Tuesday night.

We will be rescheduling the program by Craig Meyers for a later date.

The Tuesday, January 21 meeting of Des Moines Audubon Society is being canceled due to cold conditions.

Our next meeting is scheduled for 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, February 18 when photographer Craig Meyers will be our speaker.

Our Story

Des Moines Audubon Society is a local organization in central Iowa devoted to conservation of wildlife in general and the study and protection of birds in particular. The organization holds monthly meetings and field trips. Meetings are held the third Tuesday of each month (September through April) at the Northwest Community Center at 51st Street and Franklin Avenue in Des Moines, Iowa. The Center is just west of the Franklin Library. Field trips are usually held the second Saturday of each month. The public is invited to participate in all activities, and beginners are welcome and encouraged to participate in field trips.
