There is more to being a superhero than just looking like one" -TDK
Our goal is to help others in whatever way we can and be more than fictional heroes. We genuinely want to see people succeed from the child dealing with medical issues or bullying at school to the local business trying to make a positive impact in our community. The Iowa League of Heroes was established in 2004 when two friend
s thought of an idea...To visit children who were not able to see their favorite heroes under normal circumstances. After many years, dedication and investments, our name was solidified and this simple idea grew from sharing one character to what we have today. Setting the standard in character appearances, each member has invested hundreds if not thousands of dollars in design, fabrication, location and purchase of parts for our suits because we believe dealing with special needs causes and children’s hospitals deserve a higher standard. We want to make sure they don’t see a guy/girl in a costume, but a hero in a suit. Most importantly, we want to maintain high standards to honor the creators of these heroes; Leaving no doubt that we hold each one in the highest respect. The League provides a platform for local heroes to step into unique positions and become agents of change for children and families in our communities. It is our pleasure to bring happiness and excitement to kids of all ages through very real encounters with very real heroes. Donating our time to children’s hospitals and charities does not compare to any other form of giving. On the gravestone of each member will be two dates... The date of birth and the date of death, but in between those dates is a dash. We simply want to make the most of our dash. We hope you do too. Members of the I.L.O.H. are willing to donate their time and resources for causes that reach beyond financial borders. Hospital visits and special causes are dearest to our hearts. We will go out of our way to help those who can't help themselves. Commission rates for events designed to promote or raise funds are determined on an individual basis. Please feel free to contact us for questions -

[DISCLAIMER: Our time and resources are limited and extremely valuable to us. If you are requesting a volunteer appearance for a special visit with a sick child, please understand it may take us a minimum of one hour to suit up and suit down after the event. If the Batcar is involved, it requires 30 minutes to be prepped in advance. Depending on the location of the event, drive time is added. Please make sure your child likes super heroes so we can be sure to utilize our efforts where they can make the greatest impact.]
