Connect Downtown Improving safety and access to and within Downtown Des Moines, regardless of whether you walk, bike,

Connect Downtown is an undertaking spearheaded by the Greater Des Moines Partnership, Urban Land Institute Iowa, and the City of Des Moines to foster an environment that attracts residents and businesses to Downtown. The study, currently underway, will analyze the existing street network and transportation trends, and will identify opportunities to ensure attractive and equitable conditions for all users of the streets. The goal is to make Downtown a great place for pedestrians, bicyclists, transit riders, and drivers alike. The project kicked off this past summer, and we need YOUR input to ensure the plan reflects our community’s vision for Downtown Des Moines. Please sign up for updates and notices on the sidebar to the right, or feel free to contact us by clicking on the “Get Involved” button above. Corinne Kisner, Executive Director, and Janette Sadik-Khan, Chair of the National Association of City Transportation Officials (NACTO), today issued the following statement in response to the Federal…
