Enjoying a weekend long event with activities for the whole family. Saturday, July 22nd, the Junior parade starts at 5:45pm and is immediately followed by the Grand Parade. Many other events will be happening in and around Des Moines to bring people to our area businesses and create a fun environment for all to enjoy.

2020 A Whole New Waterland Festival

Waterland Festival is a 60 year tradition in Des Moines, WA throughout the city, but primarily focused in the Marina District. Destination Des Moines devotes the entire month of July to celebrating our Waterland Community through events focused on creating a great place to live, work, own a business, and enjoy with your family, friends, and out of town guests.

Unfortunately 2020 will be another landmark year in the 60+year history of the Waterland Festival. Sadly due to the currently covid-19 crisis, our volunteer organization along with city officials decided to cancel the typical Waterland Festival activities and group events. This year the Waterland Festival will go to a Virtual Format broadcast on local cable channel 21 and through our social media pages and partners. Additional activities will work to continue to integrate helping our local businesses and creating a fun (and memerable) experience for our community.
