It is with heavy hearts that we share the sad news of the passing of Maria Davis on October 12, 2026.

On behalf of our organization and the Filipino American community, we extend our deepest condolences to Maria’s family, friends, and loved ones during this difficult time.

May you find comfort in the love and memories you shared with her. Our thoughts and prayers are with everyone mourning her loss.

Funeral Arrangements:

Visitation: Thursday, October 22, from 4:00–6:00 PM, followed by a Rosary service at 6:00 PM at Grandon Funeral and Cremation Care in Ames.

Funeral Mass: Friday, October 23, at 1:00 PM at St. Cecilia Catholic Church in Ames.

🇵🇭 🇺🇸Celebrating Filipino American History Month by Serving Our Community 🇵🇭 🇺🇸

October is Filipino American History Month, a time to celebrate the history, culture, contributions, and stories of Filipino Americans across the country.

This year, the Filipino American Society is proud to celebrate in a meaningful way — by giving back.
On October 22, we’ll be partnering with Feed DSM to help provide a free meal for members of our community, and FAS will be preparing and serving Filipino food for the evening. 🍽️❤️

For us, sharing Filipino culture has always been about more than performances and celebrations. Food is one of the ways we bring people together, welcome others into our community, and show care for one another.
