Des Moines Faith Committee for Peace invites all to the annual International Day of Peace at the Cowles Commons Peace Garden.
Keynote by Rev. John Tyson of Plymouth UCC and music by Singing Resistance-Des Moines. We express a vision of peace and a position against war shared by all faith traditions. This year it has been clearer than ever that we are not each other’s enemies, and that the urgent work of peace-making is essential to the survival and well-being of humanity.

All Des Moines Public Library locations will be serving as cooling centers during open hours through Saturday, September 5 or until Polk County's Extreme Temperature Plan is no longer active. DART will be providing free rides to approved cooling centers while the extreme temperature plan is activated. DART phone 515-283-8100.
