Yesterday, ISAE members gathered for our Annual Meeting!

Our panel of association leaders shared invaluable insights on navigating careers in the association world, and we’re truly grateful for the time and wisdom they brought to the conversation.

Meet Our ISAE Associate Division Leaders!

We’re excited to spotlight two outstanding leaders in our ISAE Associate Division:

Kathy Staudt serves as the Associate Division Chair while also working as the Regional Director of Sales at Heart of America Group. Kathy’s favorite ISAE event is the vendor fair, which she finds invaluable for building personal connections with attendees. She credits her ISAE membership for providing a strong network—an incredible resource for brainstorming and sharing ideas. When she’s not working, Kathy enjoys traveling, cheering on ISU sports, and spending time with family and friends on the patio.

Matt Bral is our Associate Division Vice-Chair and founding partner of Bral Niedert Private Wealth. Matt appreciates the quarterly meetings and networking events that ISAE offers. He values the opportunity to learn more about the needs of associations and to grow his professional network. Off the clock, Matt loves traveling with his family.

Meet ISAE’s Communication Committee Leaders

ISAE is pleased to recognize the dedicated professionals who help guide and strengthen our communications efforts.

Susan Seehase, ISAE Communication Committee Chair, serves as Chief Operations Officer for the Iowa Association of Community Providers. (IACP). Susan values the networking and collaborative environment of ISAE, particularly the opportunity to share information and ideas during monthly roundtables. Through her involvement, she has expanded her professional network while deepening her understanding of association business practices and principles. Outside of work, Susan enjoys spending time with family and friends, traveling, and a good Netflix series.

Mary Lyon, ISAE Communication Committee Vice Chair, is STEM and Administrative Coordinator at the Iowa Biotechnology Association (IowaBio) and holds her CMP designation. Mary appreciates ISAE for the opportunity to connect with fellow association professionals and exchange practical insights, especially through small group roundtable discussions. She credits ISAE’s CMP study group as an important resource in helping her earn her credential. Outside of work, Mary enjoys spending time with her family, going for walks, and their weekly ice cream outings—dog included.

ISAE is grateful for Susan and Mary’s leadership, expertise, and commitment to strengthening communication and connection within our association community.

Meet ISAE’s Program Committee

We’re excited to introduce the leaders who help shape ISAE’s programs and learning experiences for our members.

Carolyn Andersen, Program Committee Chair, is Sales & Project Manager at Catch Des Moines. Carolyn values the opportunity to connect with peers and enjoys exchanging ideas during roundtable discussions. Her participation in ISAE’s Leadership Class strengthened her understanding of association work, built valuable connections, and increased her confidence to step into leadership roles. Outside of work, she enjoys reading and even started a book club.

Caitlyn Frohmader, Program Committee Vice Chair, serves as Senior Education Events Manager at the Iowa Credit Union League. Monthly roundtables are her favorite ISAE activity, offering opportunities to connect with fellow association professionals, share ideas, and gain new perspectives. She credits ISAE with expanding her professional network and providing valuable insights she can apply to her organization. Caitlyn stays active by training for triathlons and enjoys spending time with her chocolate lab, friends, and planning her next travel adventure.

We’re grateful for Carolyn and Caitlyn’s leadership, creativity, and dedication to strengthening ISAE’s programs and member experience.

Meet ISAE’s Member Services Committee

We’re proud to recognize the dedicated leaders who help shape and support the ISAE member experience.

Kelly Johnson Rose, Member Services Chair for ISAE, also serves as President and CEO of the Iowa Parks and Recreation Association. One of Kelly’s favorite parts of ISAE is the roundtables—spaces for meaningful conversation, shared learning, and real world insight. She credits her professional growth to the relationships and knowledge gained through involvement in associations like ISAE. Outside of work, Kelly enjoys reading and spending time outdoors.

Bonnie Alley, Vice Chair of Member Services for ISAE, is Director of Business Development at Discover Ames. Bonnie shares that ISAE’s quarterly meetings, roundtables, and focus groups have been especially meaningful, offering both personal and professional value. Through her involvement, she has expanded her network, strengthened professional connections, and gained insight into the work of associations and businesses across Iowa. Outside of work, she enjoys time with friends and family, volunteering, and travel.

Brad Holtan: ISAE Secretary/Treasurer and Director of Finance & Program Services at the Iowa State Association of Counties. Brad loves connecting with others at quarterly meetings and networking events. Being part of ISAE and earning his CAE has expanded his professional network. Outside of work, Brad enjoys sports like golf, pickleball, football, and baseball/softball!

Reo Menning: ISAE Past President and President & CEO of RINAlliance. As a CAE and active ISAE member, Reo appreciates every event and opportunity ISAE offers. She values the connections she’s made with knowledgeable and supportive people, helping her navigate any association challenge. In her free time, Reo loves spending time with friends.

Robert Palmer, ISAE President and attorney at Nyemaster Goode Law Firm, loves connecting with members at quarterly meetings and CAE breakfast events. When he’s not working, Robert enjoys quality time with his family.

Brad Hartkopf, ISAE Vice-President and Senior Director of Public Policy at the Iowa Association of Business and Industry, says ISAE’s quarterly meetings and Top Golf events top his list of favorites. Brad values the meaningful relationships he’s built through ISAE and spends his free time golfing or playing pickleball.

Yesterday, ISAE members gathered for our Quarterly Meeting at Prairie Meadows Event Center! The day began with our Industry Partner Showcase and concluded with an educational and inspiring presentation on empathy from Joseph Cope.

One ISAE member shared, “Joseph does a great job engaging the audience rather than talking at them. He addresses a topic that resonates with everyone and ensures each person leaves with unique takeaways.”

Today, ISAE members came together for a roundtable discussion to share insights and learn how associations are thoughtfully implementing AI to streamline operations and enhance member engagement.
