Did you know the footprints left by astronauts on the Moon could stay there for millions of years? That's because the Moon has no wind or rain to wash them away! Today, our young scientists space explorers at our Waukee Astrolab
Through hands-on experiments and creative challenges, students learned about solar power by making solar ovens, created parachutes and the plants and safety the earth with their own space creations!

Science has never been this much fun! Our young explorers blasted off with Balloon Rockets, discovered exciting chemical reactions with Fizzy Planets, and got creative designing their very own Moon Crater Creations! Through hands-on activities, kids learned how science works while experimenting, creating, and having a blast. Learning becomes unforgettable when curiosity leads the way!

Did you know that honey and sugar can never spoil?

Honey and sugar can last without spoiling. Their high sugar concentration and low water activity create an environment where bacteria and fungi cannot survive.

At YES Summer Kitchen Chemistry Camp, students will learn about food science, healthy eating, and how communities work together to address food insecurity.

Campers will also enjoy a special field trip to the Drake Sprout Garden, where they'll harvest fresh produce, explore urban agriculture, and discover how community gardens help provide access to healthy foods.
