East High Alumns don't forget to get your Big E dinner tickets!

The Big E Dinner is scheduled for Wednesday, November 10th with pickup from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. from Centro in Des Moines. Proceeds from the event will go towards the EHS Alumni Foundation.

EHS Homecoming Football game is this Friday, October 1st! We'd love to see a big alumni turnout to cheer on the team! The Alumni Foundation will have a tent at the game. Come visit us! You can renew your Association membership and also find out about the amazing efforts to raise $4 million to increase our scholarship endowment fund and improve facilities for East High students. (Hint: we've raised a LOT already - but we need your help to reach our goal.) Hope to see you there!

Join us this weekend as we host our annual Community Car Check-Up! Our partnerships with O'Halloran International, Polk County, Urban Dreams, NAPA Auto, Broadlawns Medical Center, The Guardian Project, and many others has made this one of our most popular community events!

We'll be at North High School, Saturday, from 8am until Noon. All services are FREE and includes replacement of exterior light bulbs, fluids top off, replacement wiper blades, an overall safety check, and more!

Hey neighbors don't forget. Those living in Polk County have until this Sunday to go down and apply for Disaster Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program. It is available for Boone, Jasper, Polk, Poweshiek and Story County residents who were impacted by the derecho and subsequent power outages on August 10, 2020. Eligible families will receive D-SNAP in an amount equal to one month of the maximum amount of Food Assistance/SNAP benefits, based on household size.
Current Food Assistance recipients are not eligible to receive D-SNAP benefits as they already received the maximum allotment of Food Assistance benefits for their household size for August and September

To keep wait times to a minimum, DHS is asking applicants to apply at the site in their county of residence and to follow the schedule below based on the first letter of last names. However, persons may apply at any time during the D-SNAP application period.
