The Rainier Chapter of the BCCA promotes collecting beer cans and other breweriana with an emphasis on Northwest breweries especially the Rainier Brewing Company. We host buy/trade/sell events - typically on the second Saturday of February, April, and October. The Pacific Northwest has a long and storied brewing history from Henry Weinhard, Andrew Hemrich, Emil Sick, to the current pioneers creati

ng great new microbrews. Join with us to learn more about long lost breweries and brands like Apex, Horluck's, Hop Gold, Alt Heidelberg, Western Style, Olympia, Gold Seal, Martin's, Brew 66, Town Club, Silver Springs, Finer Flavor, Columbia, Boss Ale, Marinoff, Rheinlander, Western Style, and Bayview to name a few. Learn how Prohibition affected the industry and led the iconic Rainier Brewing Company to leave the state for California. Come learn about the packaging technology changes through the years - from blob top bottles used in the Washington Territories (W.T.), to heavy steel cans needing a churchkey to open, to cone tops, zip tops, U tabs, and to stay tabs. Oh, and we enjoy drinking Rainier and fine microbrews too.
