VACI Pride!

From TEACH apprentice to Eye Clinic Supervisor.

Thuy Le joined Broadlawns through the first TEACH apprenticeship program after immigrating to the United States in 2016. “I emailed multiple times to state how interested I was in joining the TEACH program,” Thuy said. “Because I didn’t speak much English, I didn’t do well in my interview. But they gave me a chance.”

After completing the TEACH program with her Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) training, Thuy worked in Broadlawns Inpatient Behavioral Health for about two years. She continued her education while building her career at Broadlawns and is now a registered nurse with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).

More recently, Thuy worked in the Neurology Clinic, where she credits her Neurology family with helping her continue her education. This week, Thuy begins her first supervisor role as Eye Clinic Supervisor. “If I can do it, anyone can do it,” she said. “I’m proof that you can start from the beginning not knowing anything and still find what you love to do.”

Congratulations, Thuy!
